  • Funding Bids For Musical Instruments

    Tue 27 Oct 2015

Funding bids for musical instruments successful!

In the first half of the autumn term, Miss Tooth, the new music teacher wrote two bids to fund musical instrument purchases for the school.

One was written to the Music for All charity to purchase some violins and the other to the EMI Music Education Foundation to purchase some keyboards, as presently the ones in school are kindly on loan from Beaumont Leys Secondary School.

Both bids were successful and Alderman Richard Hallam Primary School received £1085 funding for violins and £750 funding for keyboards. The violins have been purchased and lessons started for 10 year 3 and 4 pupils on Friday 30th October. The keyboards will be purchased during this half of the autumn term and pupils in music lessons and keyboard club will be able to use them.

Although we did not win the overall competition we were given a gold award for all of the hard work that the staff and students had put in. Two pupils (Dominic Kubilius and Martha McGhee) were invited to a special ceremony at Mayflower Primary School along with Ellie our gardener to accept the award on behalf of ARH, they also stayed for lunch which was actually the winning menu of the competition.

  • Rugby World Cup Tickets

    Mon 05 Oct 2015

Congratulations to those children who will be accompanying Mr Wells to the Rugby World Cup game this Tuesday (6th October 2015). Pupils will need to make their way to Bede Park before 4:00 pm to meet Mr Wells and receive their tickets. Just after 4:00 we will be walking from Bede Park down to the Leicester City King Power Stadium.

When the game is finished we will be walking back to Bede Park where parents can collect their children. Hopefully this will help avoid some of the traffic congestion around the stadium. We should be returning to Bede Park shortly after 6:30.

Don’t forget to bring your Canada shirts and your moose horn hats.

    GO CANADA GO!
