Volunteering

At ARH, we place a great importance on community and helping others. Giving is one of the '5 Ways to Wellbeing' and is important for our own wellbeing as well as being an excellent thing to do!

As a school, we give our children lots of opportunities to volunteer in school and encourage them to volunteer outside of school too. In school, they can be a Class Champion or a Terrific Transformer to help our school community. You can watch our school assembly launch of volunteering here: https://alderman-richard-hallam.primarysite.media/playlist/volunteering

The Kedzior Award

Each half-term, two children across the school can win our coveted Kedzior Award for their volunteering outside of the school. This can be through helping at home, helping others or volunteering in the community. You can see our winners below!

Spring 2 - 2022

We are incredibly proud to announce this half term’s Kedzior Award winners are Fleur M and Freya L. They have been busy helping others, volunteering their time and donating to their community. Fleur achieved this award for volunteering to help younger children. She has been doing this since December, starting with her younger sister in playing the violin to supporting dancers at her dance class. Helping others makes her feel genuinely joyful. She has been volunteering her support with a massive smile on her face! Freya has completed 10 miles on her bike and raised over £500 which has been donated to a charity called ‘Waterfall’ in Africa. The charity will use this money to buy 9 solar panels and build a water-well in a village.

These pupils are excellent role models and have been rewarded with a certificate; a Headteacher’s pick of the pot and have chosen a whole class treat. Huge congratulations to these fantastic pupils and thank you for all that you do!

Spring 1 - 2022

We are super proud to announce this half term’s Kedzior Award winners are: Adam C and Jada B. They have been busy helping others, volunteering their time and donating to their community. Adam achieved this award for donating new toys to a charity called ‘Toys on the Table’ during the Christmas period. Jada achieved this award for giving her time to volunteer at her local church for the past 8 months! She has been using her amazing skills and talent, playing the drums and the piano for the congregation. Well done both!

Autumn 2 - 2021

We are incredibly proud to announce this half term’s Kedzior Award winners are: Daniel W and Florence C. They have been busy helping others, in their family and their community. Daniel managed to scoop the prize by helping in the community through donating his and his brother’s reading books to Syrian refugees and to an African charity. Florence has been amazing and has helped to do many chores at home; these have been completed with 100% effort.  These pupils are excellent role models and have been rewarded with a certificate; a Headteacher’s pick of the pot and have chosen a whole class treat. Huge congratulations again!

Autumn 1 - 2021

We are delighted to announce Jamie and Nina who have won this half-term's Kedzior Award! Jamie has been helping at home with chores and walking the family dog. Nina has been volunteering to litter pick at Abbey Park with her dad. A massive well done to both.

Summer 2 - 2021

We are incredibly proud of Pavan and Emilia-Elena who have won this half-term's Kedzior Award! Pavan has been helping at home with gardening and even taught a mindfulness session to his family. Emilia-Elena has been doing jobs around the house, helping out her mum and dad. Well done both!

We are so proud of Oscar and Shiloh - our first ever winners of the Kedzior Award! Oscar raised an impressive £300 for guide dogs and Shiloh has been supporting the local community by helping out at the local foodbank and helping with cooking meals for others.
