Alderman Richard HallamPrimary School

School Council

Our School Council

At the beginning of the school year, we hold elections for our school councillors. Every child, all the way from Year 1 to 6 has the chance to run and each class elects one representative. Our school councillors meet at least once per half term with Miss Milligan to discuss and vote on new ideas. These ideas are then shared with our school’s Senior Leadership Team for approval.

School Council members are routinely involved in interviewing staff for vacant posts at school. They have come up with and asked some very challenging and thought provoking questions which candidates have commented on. Their track record over the years in spotting the best candidate has been really remarkable. The School Council interview panel regularly rank candidates in exactly the same order as a panel made up of experienced members of the Senior Management team and Governors.

Our school council is responsible for a wide range of initiatives and fundraising schemes within Alderman Richard Hallam Primary School, such as helping to support the upcoming fundraising for our sensory room, coming up with the idea for our lovely Zen garden at the entrance to the school and helping our school to support a range of charities over the course of the year.

School Council 23/24 - Coming soon!

We are currently in the process of electing our School Councillors for this academic year. Keep your eyes peeled for our successful candidates here.
