Welcome
ARH – Educating a community of life-long learners
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our parents and carers. If you are considering Alderman Richard Hallam Primary School for your child, I would definitely suggest you take the time to come and visit.
I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of such a wonderful school. We are the largest primary school in Leicester City with over 850 children on roll. We have extensive green spaces to support our outdoor learning, a wonderful sensory room for our SEND pupils and excellent classroom resources. Our children experience many wonderful learning opportunities that they are able to take with them into the next phase of their education. Our curriculum has been developed by our staff for our children in our community. It is based on a cross-curricular, thematic approach designed to increase engagement and enjoyment. We strive to instil positive emotions and use our Ingredients for Success to enable our children to be active world citizens who are able to contribute fully to society. At Alderman Richard Hallam Primary School, everyone is important and everyone’s opinions are valued and respected. Pupil Voice is incredibly important to us and in turn gives children the skills needed to develop their confidence, self-esteem and resilience.
We truly value our local community and have developed excellent links across many areas of the city. We are particularly proud of our partnership with Leicester City in the Community. In 2020, we became an accredited ‘Routes to Resilience School’ which we were incredibly proud of and we continue our strong relationship with 'Worth-it' with a real focus on positive psychology. Last year, we achieved the Carnegie Centre of Excellence's Gold Award for our commitment to mental health.
A school wouldn’t be a school without teachers and teaching assistants and at Alderman Richard Hallam, we really do have the best! All our staff are dedicated, hardworking and passionate about providing the best education for our children. Many of our staff have supported other schools, worked as moderators for the Local Authority and freely give their own time to provide a range of extra-curricular learning opportunities. I am thrilled to work with such an amazing team of people.
If you think that our school would be the perfect learning environment for your child, please call the school office on 0116 262 4003 to make an appointment. We would love to meet you, show you around and answer any questions you may have.
