Year 6 - King Power Stadium - Leicester Schools Finals Day - 15/16
After some terrific performances at the King Power Stadium, ARH have been crowned Leicester School’s League Division 1 Champions 2016! The boys thoroughly deserved it after putting in months of effort and grinding through two initial league stages earlier in the year before arriving at the grand final! With so much to play for, the boys were keen to bring their A-game to the home of the Premier League Champions and they did not disappoint! Captain Lewis Smith-Barnacle stated that he was “Filled up with joy,” upon raising the cup in front of what was close to 1,000 spectators!
It wasn’t all plain sailing however as a dreaded penalty shootout was needed to win the semi-final but great composure was shown by Harry Howkins before Tom Barsby (Co-Vice Captain) stepped up and slotted away the decider despite later explaining that he was tremendously nervous! Kian (Co-Vice Captain) stated, “I was overwhelmed by the cacophony of noise,” and it was fitting that the squad achieved this magnificent feat in front of such an audience. Well done to everyone, the team, coaches and supporters!
This day will live in the memory of the team and the school for a long time!
Further to the success earlier in the season, the Year 6 ARH football team further cemented their status as the best team in Leicester City by winning the inaugural Leicester School’s FA Cup. After 6 rounds of close-fought competition, they produced an outstanding display in the final to be crowned champions! This capped a wonderful season for our boys who won 3 major competitions in all and we wish them every success in the future; this will long live in the memories of everyone associated with the triumphs this year! Congratulations!

Danone Cup
Tuesday 15th September was a special day for the Year 6 football team who played some fantastic football at Rolleston Primary School to win the Danone Cup! Lead by Mr V and accompanied by Mr Gregory, the squad was able to put together an amazing string of superb football matches to win this competition once again. Hopefully there is a lot more silverware to come from them. They deserve a lot of credit for their effort and we all at ARH are thoroughly proud of them.
