At ARH, we place a great importance on community and helping others. Giving is one of the '5 Ways to Wellbeing' and is important for our own wellbeing as well as being an excellent thing to do!
As a school, we give our children lots of opportunities to volunteer in school and encourage them to volunteer outside of school too. In school, they can be a Class Champion or a Terrific Transformer to help our school community. Each half-term, two children across the school can win our coveted Kedzior Award for their volunteering outside of the school. This can be through helping at home, helping others or volunteering in the community.
We are incredibly proud of our two fantastic Kedzior Award winners for this half-term. Oscar in Year 5 has raised a whopping £500 for LOROS so far this year. Our Y4 winner completed a one-hour charity walk at Beacon Hill Park raising money for children with disabilities in Kerala, India, and Open Hands Leicester – we are incredibly proud of them both! Remember, you can nominate your child here for any volunteering they take part in outside of school, whether it’s helping around the home, volunteering their time or fundraising.
