At ARH, it is important that our children leave us as well-rounded individuals. As well as developing their academic skills, we want all children to develop their character to allow them to be the best version of themselves. At the heart of our Personal Development Curriculum are our Ingredients For Success which help to develop our pupils' character strengths.
During school time, the children are encouraged to use the ‘Ingredients For Success’ or ‘I.F.S.’ and they are given opportunities to reflect on which ones they are using, and recognise how to build and apply the I.F.S. in their work at school, home and life.
We hope that you will want to help them build these strengths at home as well, and we are here to help you do that. Each week, we have a spotlight on one of the I.F.S. and one child from each class will be chosen by their class in recognition of their skills and this will be shared on the Latest News.
Our school was a pilot for the 'Worth-it' resilience project and we are an exemplar school for them. We are also incredibly proud to have achieved the 'Routes to Resilience' accreditation for our commitment to developing our children's character in 2019.
If you would like to find out more about our Ingredients For Success, please speak to your child's class teacher. You may also wish to find out which character traits are your strengths and which you need to develop. There is an excellent survey here which can help you to identify these. Why not take the survey with your child and work on your Ingredients For Success together?
