Music

Alderman Richard Hallam Primary School Music Provision

The aim of the new music curriculum will be to ensure that all of the pupils have an equal opportunity to access lessons with a music specialist, be it Miss Tooth or a visiting teacher from the Leicester-Shire Music Education Hub http://leicestershiremusichub.org/

All pupils will learn about music through:

  1. Performing – singing and playing instruments;
  2. Composing - making up their own music;
  3. Listening and appraising – listening to a wide variety of music and talking about it!

Through the above the pupils will also learn about ‘The Great Composers’, introduced as part of the new Primary Curriculum 2014.

We will also continue our links with other schools and will make greater links with Beaumont Leys Secondary School where pupils from each school will be able to come together to perform to each other and to work together to develop their musical skills.
